This group is dedicated to the glamour models who have performed stripteases in the British tabloid newspapers 'The Sun,' 'The Daily Star' and 'The Daily Sport.' The page 3 striptease phenomenon began in 1991, when someone at the Daily Star had the idea of getting a model to shed her clothes in successive editions of the paper, starting in lingerie on Monday and finally baring all on Friday. The idea proved popular, and soon strips were appearing at the rate of about one a month. Some of the top models of the day were featured - Kirsten Imrie, Dee Ivens, Lisa Bangert, Sarah Jaffer, Claire Louise, Gaynor Goodman, Helen Labdon, Lisa Forward, Tracey Coleman, Rachel Terhorst, Louise Payne and Angela Lea are just some of the original 'page 3 strip teasers.' The Daily Sport eventually got in on the act, launching their own strip feature in 1993. Vicky Lee, Adele Stephens and Kathy Shannon were among the girls who performed these raunchy ‘Daily Strips.’ The Sun was slow to react, but there have been one or two stripteases on its web site in the last few years and more are promised. There no longer seems to be a lot of interest in 'page 3 strip teasers.' which is a shame, as it means that strip fans must make do with old images until the papers come to their senses and get the current crop of models to strip for us. Scans of the original strips are hard to come by, though, and that is why I have created this group. If anyone else remembers this unfairly neglected page 3 feature and has scans to share, please post them so that others can see for themselves why 'page 3 strip teasers' deserve to make a comeback.
